The lens looks like a manual diaphragm version whereas the offer of an auto bellows might suggest otherwise. This could be academic, as the use of wide apertures in generally preferred by users in this forum.

Normally I can understand academic, but this time I am lost :)

Olympus has manual and auto versions of their similar 38mm lens to allow aperture control but this Canon is fully manual. The aperture is adjusted with that little arm sticking off the side near the front.

Hi Paul, now I see what you mean. But in this case I was referring to the AutoBellows as a generic devicename and not meaning to suggest something with the part Auto. So yes with this lens you will have to set the diafragm manually.

"Autobellows" in such a case usually means there is a second cable socket at the front of the bellows so that a double cable release will close the diaphragm to the set aperture at the same time as it presses the (in normal mode) shutter release button. This is the case with my Olympus OM bellows.
