I had something happen tonight that shook me up a bit.
I had prepared a slide from my hay infusion, and just placed it in the scope. I found a critter and was watching it when I got called to dinner.
I went and ate, then returned to the waterdrop on the slide. I guess the slide dried out a little and lowered the coverslip. There in the fov was the critter, but it didn't look too healthy. Something brown or dark green was oozing out of it in a ling stream. I guess the coverslip crushed the poor thing and pushed whatever it ate out. It, of course, was dead. I tried to rehydrate, but it was too late. I then searched the rest of the slide and found two more critters in the same dismal state. I felt like a murderer, but I did learn not to leave a slide unattended for any lenght of time.
Oooops
