Spare table tennis balls

Post by lauriek »

Does anyone in the UK want some table tennis balls? I'm about to buy 30 from China and I don't need that many, I think I want 10 for now so I will have 20 spare. Shoot me a PM if interested, these will be passed on at cost (which is minimal). These balls are white, have no logo and no writing. I'll send them further afield if someone wants but they are more likely to get squashed in transit I guess...

If a table tennis ball gets squashed use the old trick of popping it in hot water and the expansion of the air inside will restore it's shape. Obviously don't boil it since it may go pop, fish it out as soon as it's shape is restored.

My guess is that Laurie is not going to play table tennis with them; more likely to be cutting holes in them.

They make great toys for kittens and young cats. So, if you know anyone..., possibly your local cat rescue charity e.g Cat Protection League.

He's worried about them getting crushed in the post though NU before holes are cut in them!

Why from China? The cost must be prohibitive, also the carbon footprint.

Thanks for the ideas guys, cat toys there's something I hadn't thought of - ahh well if no one else needs any then I have a cat that I expect would be happy to destroy the others! :)

9 pounds for 30 including p&p from China. I don't suppose the postage is much as they weigh next to nothing...

Laurie,

You might save some money and brighten up your photography e.g.:

Laurie, if you haven't ordered them from China yet: I found tt balls in shops for sports equipment, toy shops and in the toy or sports dept. of big department stores or shops like "boots". Had to look at various places though, till I found the white ones we are after with not too much stuff printed on.

I don't worry about the printing. On all the balls I've seen, it comes off easily with one or another solvent, or at worst, with some fine sandpaper. They're gonna be diffusers anyway, why worry about roughening up the surface a little?
