They were (edit meant to be) resized in photoshop to 1000 wide, no preprocessing then in ZS.
It's still cookin:

Only doing Pmax.

JUst found something else wrong. I'm using the same reduced files as the original, which are marked as being 1000 wide, but I see they're bigger, 2779 x 2389, so something went wrong back on the 4th July when they were created :roll: .
They're about 2425 kB each.

Steps were done by tweaking the knob on the rear bellows standard, forwards. No calibrations.
The dof movements started llike this:

WHich I think looks about right.?
With 50mm lens,
V = 250mm to
V= 249mm shifts the plane of focus 0.063mm
But by the time the rear standard closes up on the front one
V = 125 to V = 124 shifts it 0.45 mm
SO I would have been putting in too many steps at that end.

With those numbers, about 20mm (83 - 62) subject depth should have been covered though, so I'm not sure why there isn't more sharp wasp. The antenna's pretty long, but...?
In the last frames I can't see a focus shift. :? Image
Oh dear, must have something else wrong.
Multipicity of errata.
Or errata in my multiplicity.
Anyway, "bong" - it's finished.

On the bright side, I see what's causing the problem of duplicate outputs.

What you need to do is go to Options > Preferences > PMax Settings and uncheck Retain UDR Image. What's happening is that both the UDR and regular PMax outputs are getting retained as views. That's not very expensive, but it's confusing. I see there's a bug in the code, even so. By intention, two outputs should never have identical names, but that's what's happening here.

I agree that the first two images have about the right focus shift. I didn't track the rest of the math, but I'm sure you'll get a handle on it.

Many steps later.... Some backwards, some sideways, but on a bit.
The focus steps - the In Focus plane does go on, down the wasp's back, but it just isn't very sharp.

I have 5 views , and a stereo pair. Yay!
Well done Rik!

Things sped up quite a bit when I read the instructions and realised I had to uninstall and delete a directory , to use the extra memory :)

The wasp seems to think that's funny
+ and - 2%, on X and Y

Things are looking good now. I see you had some fun with the shift-Y controls. :D
