Grass

Post by elf »

This is a single frame focus stacked from 73 input images with Zerene Stacker. It was mostly a practice excercise to see if I could successfully stack a very flimsy grass specimen with my current setup.

The grass is probably native to Western Washington and grows to at least 6 feet.

One of the most attractive grasses I have seen. Nicely rendered, although I think I would have cropped out that upper stem and seeds.

Here are two more versions. I'm having a hard time deciding which I like better.

The second of the two new versions is what I had in mind and I think it has much better impact than the others.

If we are voting put me down for the last image being the most pleasing.

Quote – Holmes on ‘Entomology’
” I suppose you are an entomologist ? “
” Not quite so ambitious as that, sir. I should like to put my eyes on the individual entitled to that name.
No man can be truly called an entomologist,
sir; the subject is too vast for any single human intelligence to grasp.”
