Reminder: avoid posting images in other people's topics

Post by rjlittlefield »

This is one of my periodic net-nanny reminders.

Please avoid posting images in someone else's topic, unless that person has clearly indicated that followup images are welcome.

This is a photography forum, and particularly in the galleries, the image that starts the topic is considered to be the focus of the topic.

Depending on circumstances, adding an image to someone else's topic can be considered intrusive and impolite. How the added image will be taken varies from person to person, even from case to case, so it is difficult to predict.

Generally the best approach is to open a new topic with your own images, and link to it from the other topic.

Otherwise, please check first with the topic owner by email or private message, to find out how they feel on the issue.

Sorry for nagging... Full set of posting guidelines can be found HERE...

All the best,
--Rik
