Echinoderm larvae part 3 - The Sea urchin larva

Post by Wim van Egmond »

Like the brittle star larva the sea urchin larva has arms with silicious rods. But they are in a different constellation. And they have these red dots. This looks nice in dark field illumination.

Maybe the red dots work as anticollision lights. Quite a beautiful image Wim, wonderful. :D

Really wonderful, Wim. I've never seen these before (no wonder: I don't live at the seaside). So I'm very grateful for the topic.

Beautiful pic! I'd love to live closer to the sea for all the foraminifera!
