Mud Dauber Wasp? I.D. please

Post by Tom Stack »

This is only a 3 image stack as I'm having trouble with alignment. Is this little guy missing a mandible? He literally fell out of the sky on top of my wife Therisa yesterday with birds swarming around. Shot with Canon MPE 65, 1/250 at f11, Helicon.

Or is the left one malformed? Try checking your individual images.

Looks good there Tom and the image really stands out. :D Wonder how missing that mandable will affect the quality of life for the wasp? If it survived all those birds. :-k
