Nice picture but bumble bees are hairy. I have seen bees like this in Europe but have mislaid the taxonomic details.

It may be a carpenter bee such as Xylocopa violacea

Thanks jml and Harold,, Harold,, you may be right,, this was mostly all black and not real hairy,, I checked bugguide and it does appear to be a carpenter bee,, good call Harold !! Possibly a Carpenter-mimic Leafcutter - Megachile xylocopoides or therabouts,,thanks again !!

Great photo, I like the colours and the fine display of the wings.
The blown out light on the flowers is not disturbing in my opinion, when the dark bee is the main subject.
