Great to see a dragonfly, haven't seen one myself for half a year now :(
A nice capture of a male Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis), the only species in that genus.
It's a young male, and the eyes will turn green later, while the abdomen will become all blue on top, with a black tip.
The vein arrangement in the wings are quite unusual, because there is only one crossvein under the pterostigma (wing marking), resulting in a very long and slender "wing-cell" at this location close to the wing tip.

Wow! What a great photo. I really like the unusual perspective coupled with the outspread wings.

Dragonfly season hasn't started at my house yet. The last one I saw was a long time ago.

Thanks for the info Erland,, there are teams of these young dragons down by the wetlands now,, usually racing for one place to another,, but still pretty small. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for looking and commenting too Roy !!
