Cross Polarized Plastic
Nuthin' fancy as per usual. I had some time to kill yesterday. So, an ode to the demise of plastic cutlery in Canada. Effective December 20, 2022, the manufacture and import for sale of the following harmful single-use plastics in Canada will be prohibited:
checkout bags
cutlery
foodservice ware made from, or containing, problematic plastics that are hard to recycle
stir sticks
straws (with some exceptions)
Personally, I can't say I'll miss any of this stuff as I grew up without em. I am not sure if this posting qualifies as "close-up". Single snap of fork, knife and spoon. Four image stack with the addition of a small desert plate. Six image stack. Eight image stack. Plastic film used as "desert". Yum... A plastic "flower". Four image stack.

Great images! Good riddance to single use plastic, though.

Nice effects
Re: Cross Polarized Plastic
FWIW, there was a time (before finite element analysis) when plastic models and polarization were used to determine stress patterns. Residual stresses look cool. Bend that fork - could be a light show.

I would rate these as 'exceptionally nifty'.

Re: Cross Polarized Plastic
This award was inevitable and very well-deserved.

I agree 100%
