Rotifers, Stylonchia, Gastrotricha & Amoebae > Update

A mini excursion to a nearby pond, not far away from the city ,provided a large amount of all types of microlife.
In this post you will find pictures of respectively rotifers (1,2), gastrotricha (3) and stylonchia (4,5). Magnification: 25x objective.
Image 6 show the Paramecium bursaria through a 50x oil immersion lens.

Thank you Charles, I was struggling to identify that one!

The sample invited to use the higher magnification 50x oil immersion objective as well. (pictures 6, 7 and 9 ).

7 Rotifer > to be identified
8 and 9 expected to be Centropyxis aculeata Amoebae covered with quartz grains. Image 8 done with DIC 25x and shows a bit more distortion.
10 cyclops larva. DIC 25x

Pictures were taken with an Ortholux II scope with mirror house and Canon Speedlite electronic flash. The mirror house allows the user to switch over between 2 light sources and is useful for moving micro-objects like these.

Hi Walter I am heading out to collect pond organisms tomorrow morning. I like the photo of P. bursaria with the algae best best.
