Faulhaber motor on the THK KR26

Post by Bakwetu »

Last year I bought a used THK KR26 rail from the German ebay, where a guy called industrial-sale has been selling off these for a while now. Anyhow a Faulhaber 2842S012C 001g motor was attached to it (also marked with P/N 2842.01200, 3906, 183 1006 & 321 46:1). I think it is a 12V DC motor.
Does anyone know anything more about it and if is it usable with either Mjkzz's controller or the Cognisys stackshot (we have the first non-usb version of this at work)? The safest route would be otherwise to get a conversion kit from mjkzz I guess.

This is what it looks like https://www.ebay.com/itm/THK-KR26-BALL- ... 2497861920

Those are DC motors and won't work with a stepper motor controller. You will need to get a DC motor controller, or replace the motor with a stepper motor and use a stepper motor controller like you mentioned.

Best,
Research is like a treasure hunt, you don't know where to look or what you'll find!
