Post by johannnishant »

Hello!

Looking for any sort of photo adapter for my Olympus BH2.
I have a Canon EOS 5D and an NFK 2.5x and would really like to take some images,

Thank you!

Do you have a "trinocular" port?

If you have a trinocular port, the NFK lens should fit into a 23mm hole at the center. The outside is a dovetail with a 38mm diameter. You can get an Olympus photomicro L adapter, find a third party 38mm female dovetail to m42 (or other standard thread) adapter, or you can make your own:

There are notes here on how to connect a digital SLR camera to an Olympus BH-2 with a trinocular head.

The Photomicro Adapter L is becoming hard to find and prices are getting high, for example search eBay for item 323919628139.

Hello, Thank you for the replies,
Yes, I do have a trinocular port,

@Alan wood, you website is a treasure trove of information! great work

Yes, I am aware of the how rare and expensive the adapter has become,
It is quite incredible how an adapter with no optics or components can be so expensive! Supply and demand I guess :)

I was wondering if anyone in this forum has one to sell?

I'm pretty sure I have a Photomicro Adapter L I can part with. It will be late tomorrow or Friday before I know for sure. It should be at my lab and I won't get back there until then. I don't want to tell you I have it for sure, until I have it in my hand!

How about half what the other one is listed for, plus shipping?

The above adapter would probably work, with the caveat that it would need some added spacers (I would strongly suspect there is an m42 thread between the camera mount and the 38mm clamp). With an m42 helicoid you could get exact parfocality.

Honestly, the photomicro L adapter is a nice looking piece of hardware, and on a canon with an om-canon adapter it is dead parfocal, but spending a lot on it does not make sense to me. That's money you could be saving for optical stuff.
Edit: that said, the above offer is a good one.

I have found a reasonably priced Photomicro Adapter L - £65.

Please check your messages.

If you don't want it, I will post a message that everyone can see.
