Great work. An MFT system is so much easier to use than most FF in field macro work. I have so much fun shooting macro with Oly auto bracketing, it makes me hate the half-baked approach of my Panasonic S1R/Sigma even more....

Thanks much, Lou!
I've enjoyed the move to MFT system for macro. Had done this short blog on decision to move - http://iridealone.blogspot.com/2018/09/ ... macro.html

As for focus stacking, the shutter limitation of 1/20th makes it hard to use in the field

Thanks much, Mike!
I love the rich color the Oly renders, does get complicated with reds/purples though

"As for focus stacking, the shutter limitation of 1/20th makes it hard to use in the field"

That applies to flash, but a strong continuous high-CRI LED light source lets you use arbitrarily high shutter speeds for instant stacking until the buffer is filled, and slower frame rate (perhaps determined by the write speed of your card) after that.

Indeed, Lou..I use flash to "freeze" motion and also compensate for handheld shooting errors..will give your suggestion a try

The male in image 5 appears to be the lesser of two weevils.

Sorry, couldn’t resist.
