Those look nice, though they show focus banding suggesting step size was too big (Thanks Mike W-- I had said "too small", but meant "too big", now corrected). What objective and tube lens did you use?

Wing scales

The scales were shot with either a 40X objective or a 60X objective, which requiured two sets of stacks and stitching. Camera was set for monochrome and a green filter was put in the condenser to reduce color fringing caused by the prismatic effects of the scale structure.
