Nikon Microscope ID help
Hello, I've been trying to get the exacts on this Nikon Model S. I believe it's a third gen.(base) model S-KE? with Type U head? I can't figure out what the tube with the colored dots between the condensor and diaphragm is. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
That looks interesting.
The head should by Type F (trinocular, fixed). http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/ind ... nikon.html The base is unusual. Seems like the field iris unit can be moved out of the light path on dovetails.
Could the unit under the condenser be a pol filter or fluorescence filter?
Regards, Ichty
