Hi ya' Mike,
I love ants but I haven't had time to photograph them this year. That last article leads one to believe that trap-jaw ants don't occur in North America citing Central and South America. Actually, there is a species of trap-jaw ants that inhabit Arizona. I haven't found them yet but here's a link to an image of the Arizona species, Odontomachus clarus.
