Pollen or eggs?

Post by luxuspeter »

Can you help me please to identify what these are, eggs of an insect or pollen? I found them on the outside leaf of a crocus flower.

First post -- welcome aboard!

They certainly look like crocus pollen, probably accidentally scraped off by a bee or some other pollinator on its way in or out.

You could get a more direct comparison by opening the flower and photographing some of the pollen still attached in its normal place.
