Mike,

Nice image!! Is this from a Microwave Oven? If so it operates ~ 2.4GHz.

There's a fascinating story behind the British invention and development of the magnetron in WWII and shipping it to the USA where the development continued at MIT's Radiation Labs, which was named Radiation Labs to make the Nazi's think that it was centered on nuclear development rather than high frequency radar.

Yep, microwave died. Amazing you can get a microwave for $80.

One can salvage many useful parts from a dead microwave oven too.
Just please don't open it unless one has some experience with electronics, it can actually kill. This is why a good screwdriver becomes handy.
