Have been playing around with el cheapo 10X Nikon Achromatic Finite Conjugate Objective (from Edmund Optics) for a few days now and have to say like Beatsy said "you have to find small objects".
Yesterday I opened my freezer and got late Cloeon dipterum out for a shooting session. 64 images stacked, 8 micron steps, WeMacro Rail, Canon 80D. Image quality seems to be ok as long as you stay in about 160mm extension. Nasty reflection in ocelli though.
