I have a feeling the vendor had a sudden and unexplained rush of orders. 8)

I think they were still advertising one left after mine.

(BTW, I have added this thread to the FAQ posting that indexes interesting setups.

Adalbert, can you point to the thread of Robert's that motivated you? I should be sure that one gets indexed also.)

OK, I have taken the plunge and ordered some to try.

ADi, can you confirm what screw size is needed to mount these?

Hello everybody,
The Harley-clamps have been attached to the Arca-clamps by the screws UNC ¼ x ¾.
e.g.

Excellent, so standard 1/4" screws!

Hi Ray,

I have used the following Arca-clamps :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-For-Rele ... Sw-zxWpkQA
but the short one would be better:
e.g.
https://www.ebay.de/itm/MENGS-K30-Schne ... SwqbxaJlhA

Thanks for the links. I suspect the 3/8"-1/4" insert is removable from the first rail clamp, leaving a nicely countersunk screw hole for mounting the Harley clamp. I have a few similar to the first one, and some flat head 1/4" screws that should be suitable.

Yes, this cheap rail-clamp 50mm has this removable adapter 3/8"-1/4" (this one with 30mm doesn’t have it).

But they should be ¾ inch long (about 20mm).

Inspired by Robert, I have assembled new tube for my LU Plans.
It bases on the Harley clamps:

These clamps match to the cheap M42 macro-rings :-)
Very nice ADi.

Amazing that you were able to find those clamps!

Hello everybody,
So, the iris has been moved to the objective:

And for the alignment of the components of the tube a bargain-objective has been used:

Some tests of the tube with this lens:

Results look clean.

Better than I would have thought ADi.

I have always wondered about that Objective.

UW = Ultra wide?

Hello John,
I would not recommend this lens (over $40 :-) because of the CA.
"Poor man's" alternative is NIKON BE Plan 4x / 0.1 with 100mm tube-lens.
I have used this BE Plan with a CANON EF 100mm L macro.
