newbie question about video
I'm looking at trying one of the BlackMagic Design cameras (possibly the micro studio model) Has anyone experience in using one of these 4k cameras in videomicrography? Or maybe there are other video cameras which are more suitable? I couldn't find anything from a general search of the forum. Thanks.
mlcolbert,
I've looked at the BlackMagic cameras, and even went to an industry demo session in Burbank a couple of years ago. While they appear pretty nice, and certainly capable, you should remember, with the exception of the Pocket Cinema Camera (HD only, not 4K) they are cameras only and need additional equipment to record, so the cost and complexity is higher than it appears. I use a Panasonic GH4 for 4K recording and am pretty happy with it. Nicely self-contained.

If you really want to get carried away, I have a friend who's using an 8K Red Weapon on a BX50.
