I finally got a decent pic of these today. I used 100x Leitz Floutar with Heine condenser (both oiled) on a Leitz Diavert. I had to put the Heine ring at the transition to darkfield and then add crossed polarizers. Not sure why crossing the polarizers provided the last little nudge though--but I read it works and it did! When polarizers are crossed, they mostly pass blue light, so maybe that's why it works? The camera is the Sony A99 with electronic first curtain shutter on. The camera imager is a very old unit made for a Nikon 35mm camera. The adapter has an M39 thread, so I have a converter to Sony A mount. I burned all the dust out of my lightbox
The slide is made by Klaus Kemp and consists only of Amphipleura pellucida so the coverslip is as close as possible to them. Many thanks to Klaus for making this slide for me!
When I use my scale image, I get about 260nm center-to-center.
