Nikon "KNE IR" objective

Nikon "KNE IR" objective

So I have a Nikon CF 5X/0.13 objective which is marked "KNE IR". IR is Infra Red, but what in the world "KNE" stands for :?: I searched quite a lot and didn't find any info :?

The "KNE IR" is physically identical to the regular CF 5X/0.13, but despite the equal NA, when you look through the optics physical aperture is smaller.
