Metallurgic Microscope

Post by Harald »

Hi there people,
I´m considering this scope

http://www.ebay.com/itm/50X-500X-Trinoc ... 1438.l2649

Is this any good for micro mineral specimen studying and photographing?

I have an Amscope T230A from the same dealer and very happy with that one...
Kind Regards
Harald

Not wishing to "teach you to suck eggs", do you know the fine focus travel ?
You want as much as possible; some makes are only about 2mm where others are near 30mm.

What facilities do you have on your T230A?

Hi,
My T230A is a biological microscope. There I have BF/DF and polarise possibilities. But I don´t have the surface possibilities.
I will send them an mail and ask them about the fine travel....

Thanks for taking your time ChrisR
Kind Regards

I looked at the eBay listing and it does seem to be a good reflected light scope for the reduced price of the listing. I've never used Amscope equipment before, but for metallurgic use at the listed magnifications, I believe it should perform well. :)
