Another swede bites the dust...

Post by Midline »

Hello all,

I just wanted to leave a couple of lines here, for different reasons. I've never actually been an active forum writer (think I can count the times I've written a post on one hand) but this forum really is brilliant.

I'm Björn, a 30 years old biotechnician by education, working with machine tooling and IT. Bought myself a microscope last spring, and because of the absolutely gorgeous photos on this forum, I adapted my microscope for micrography.

Wish you all a nice day!
Regards,
Björn

Björn, let me echo Pau's sentiment: Welcome to you, as a poster in our forum! :D

I'm glad that, although you prefer to avoid posting online, you made an exception for us. And in your description of this forum as "brilliant," I completely agree.

Thank you for your post, and the effort it must have taken to come out of the dark. If you ever consider more active posting, please do so. And rest assured--as you've likely noticed--we're a friendly and supportive group.

Cheers,

--Chris

Welcome Midline!

Living in Stockholm myself, I also do microscopes and machine tooling (as a hobby). Have a Schaublin 120VM and a Schaublin 13 in the basement... and scopes of course.

+1, welcome from London, Björn.

Don't be afraid to fire a question, answer one or make a comment even if you never want to post a photo. Questions and their answers are how we learn... :)

Now that's what I call a "proper" macro rail. All it needs is lenses :)

Wow, that's some impressive machining capability, just for a hobbyist! We also have a lathe at the office, mostly for educations and demonstrations, but it doesn't look so much like your Shaublin. Just like a modern car, too many cover plates. Let's find out if I manage to upload a picture correctly (I've never been writing in a forum before)...

Best regards,
