Robbers Are Mating...

Well so far we have been through hoards of June Bugs, the butterflies are still going at it and I don't know if it is mating, migrating, or both with them and now this. Robber flies are often found at the edge of the woods and fields from what I have read and now observed. I never gave Robbers much thought until I started finding these rather large ones mating and finding them quite often at present.

Ken these are really EXCELLENT photos. The quality you are achieving with your G7 is simply astounding! Terrific detail, exposure levels and colour balance are perfect and no signs of sharpening artifacts.

I was quite pleased with how these turned out myself. Sometimes it is a hassel at work to pull out the 30D and a 100mm macro but with this camera I can put it in my lunch box and it is alway handy there beside my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

So when do we get to see some pictures of your sandwiches? If sandwich pics were as good as these robberflies, I bet they'd be interesting too.

june bugs wow i havent seen any this year its odd. usually you walk outside and get ambushed by the stupid little things that run into everything and everyone. great shots of the robberflys how big are they? ive only seen small ones and those look quite bigger.

PBJ sandwiches, unfortunately, are ephemeral. But, maybe I can get a shot of one before it disapperars.

Very nicely done, and it looks like you are getting some good shots with the new toy. Can you show us a 100% crop of the face on #3?
