Yes, you can use it for both motors. Step settings will be different

I have returned :)

I found two types of 400 steppers;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Reprap-3D-Print ... SwMmBVxEc7

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Nema17-for- ... SwZQRYfueU

One of them is 1.7A and the other is 2.4A
I know the PSU of the Wemacro rail is 2A.

Which one can I use? Using the 2.4A motor may damage the controller?

Can anyone advice me to use one of above 400 steppers and explain why?
Thanks.
Regards.

You have a terrific field setup.

Where can I buy that battery case? (I already have a RRS Groundpod).

Get battery package from William at Wemacro.com, not sure about the case though. This pack will power the Wemacro rail all day long with proper batteries, and also works with Stackshot controller and focus rail (has same connector and voltage).

Make sure you get the right batteries, tabbed 18650 batteries will not fit, only flat tab-less end fits. You need to get these elsewhere, William doesn't sell them.

Also, not all 18650s are alike, anything advertising something like 4000 or 5000maH is a fake. Read not Tmart!!

Good source for legit Samsung 18650 batteries and charger (Nitecore) is

Your welcome.

William has a really nice handy field bag for the battery package. The battery package design is interesting in that it appears to be a switch-mode regulated output at 12 volts with 3 18650 batteries.

Mine held to 12.0 volts output as I ran the Wemcaro rail back and forth full length until I got tired doing this. Well more work than I can imagine any stacking full field day session taking. Impressive performance IMO.

Best,

Mike

Thanks Mike. I had an idea to feed not only Wemacro controls but flash also (in the field, of course. For home I'm using separate PS for flashes), wasn't sure for how long it would be enough for both. So kept this item in the ebay wish list.
BTW, now for the flash I'm using holder/case with 2x18650 plus converter down to 6v

No difference between these two setups, no improvement (worked very well, nothing to improve :) ), only plastic color and hardware

Where did the knob on dual-shaft motor come from? Is the motor shaft 5mm?

Correct, shaft is 5mm
Knob - item is not available from this seller, but you can try to find it from other sellers. Shaft is 6mm, so I had to use little bit of electrical tape ...

Edit:
Item 162355307913, but expensive - I paid 3x less
