Hi gpmatthews,

you catched some interesting ciliates. I'm not sure what is wrong with your flash technique, but it seemed to be an mix from oblique illumination and 3D-View. Did you centered the flash-lite correct?

Erik, the light is indeed central, but there is a false 3D effect generated by using differential interference contrast
