I was just made aware of the passing of Michael W Davidson on Christmas eve.

If you have ever visited the Molecular Expressions site, or the extensive Nikon, Olympus and Zeiss educational sites you have benefited from the knowledge, dedication and work of Michael Davidson.

He was a very accomplished researcher and educator.

Oh no, this is quite a loss for microscopy in general.

Really sad news.

He was (and still is, of course) a main reference for microscopists, amateurs and professionals alike.

Very sad news, indeed. I always enjoyed his contributions to Nikons Microsocope University and the Olympus Microscopy Resource pages. You may be able to find some of his videos on YouTube. He came across as very personable.
