Most of the butterfly eggs look semi translucence under flash and after stacking it appears to have light grows as shown on the LHS and become not crisp ( I have no issue if the egg has solid coloured and not transparent under bright light).

I usually using shadows/highlights to boost contrast to make it crisp but it will look dim. If I increase the brightness it is back to square.

Any suggest how to improve right from beginning such as lighting (I use flash and diffuser) or post processing (I try to avoid as it is timing consuming).
