Wonderful pictures Bernhard. Interesting little creature  Is that the lorica just barely showing around the animal, and is that two animals in the same lorica?

Bernhard. I always enjoy little critters that build a lorica or a test. It always seems like something you would not expect from such a "simple" creature.
I have not seen a Thuricola species carrying symbiotic chlorellae before. Thanks!

Hi Charles,

really??? It's rather exceptional to find them without zoochlorellae. Ralf has just shown an unusual example in the german forum : http://www.mikroskopie-forum.de/read.ph ... #msg-28957
