Near-infrared microphotography ?

Post by Thomas Ashcraft »

Greetings. I haven't posted here much in the past few years as I have been mostly imaging bigger phenomena ( transient luminous events) in the mesosphere.

In the meantime I have acquired a modified full spectrum Canon T3i DSLR camera in which the infrared blocking filter has been removed and replaced with an Astronomik full spectrum clear glass filter which allows in near infrared wavelengths.

I am wondering if anyone here has experimented with full spectrum cameras in conjunction with microscopes? Links to any images appreciated.

Thanks!

Near IR is used to image insects as quitin is much more transparent to IR than to visible.
