Are fluorescence objective work satisfactory with transmitted light?

Yes. Objectives are labeled as suitable for fluorescence if they do not fluoresce by themselves when exposed to UV. For visible light they act just like ordinary objectives.

You can see for example at http://objectives.nikoninstruments.com/ ... hp?tech=fl that all of Nikon's objectives labeled as suitable for fluorescence are also suitable for brightfield and darkfield (except for objectives with too large NA for darkfield).
