Spittle Bug?

Post by Ken Ramos »

Caught this little guy hanging out on a weed of some sort. I think it's a Spittle Bug. :D

Did you frighten the little fellow, Ken?
Nice shot. It looks a bit like this one on bugguide.

Thanks Paul :D I looked those over on bugguide, trying to find one with the same set of bands on its little forehead but what you linked too is as close as I got. I guess if something that looked like me was taking my photograph, I would be scared too!

You know I reallyl like my 60mm macro over my 100mm. Don't get me wrong the 100mm is a great lens but something about my 60mm seems to produce better images I think. Maybe the weight of the lens (100mm) itself has something to do with it, since I am not too steady at times. Anyway the 60mm captured this little fellow quite well I think. Thanks for the comment Doug. :D
