Hello Forum,
I'm changing my microscope set-up and have a Leitz Vario-Orthomat zoom relay lens for sale. It comes with a fitted T-mount adapter and a custom-made 21 mm spacer sleeve that lifts the lens to a suitable height when placed on the trinocular tube. The optics are nice and clean. I've used it with a Leitz Orthoplan but I guess it will work well with other similar scopes that have a 30 mm trinocular tube. I only want what I paid for it, which was GBP 230, plus postage.
Best wishes,
Des

Hi Des,
Not really interested in buying it because my scope is Zeiss but in its use:
As I think in the Orthomat camera there is a relay lens 1/3X over the vario lens, but your adaptation seems working without it as "direct projection" eyepiece, am I right?
- what magnification range are you getting with it?
- is it adequate for APSc and FF cameras?
- is it parfocal with the viewing eyepieces in the Orthoplan?

Yes, it works as 'direct projection'. I've been using it with an APSc camera sensor (Canon 60D). It can be made parfocal with the oculars by zooming the lens. A long thread on the lens is here:
