I was curious about a fern that is growing in the little garden of my wife.

Here is how the sorus looks under ultraviolet light:

Indusium:

plan apo 10x/0.45, fluorescence (UV-2B), image stacking (HF B), Canon 6D.

Sorus:

Sensationally good -- again Shocked A competition winner -- again? Laughing I suspect this is autofluorescence, no Calcofluor? But I'm puzzled where the blue is coming from if so, is this straight from the camera colour, or have the Photoshop hue and saturation sliders been used creatively?

I agree, the last image especially reminds me of a confocal image. How did you manage to get those colours and resolution?

I wish that.

Yes, it is autofluorescence. The blue is straight from the camera, in PS I did a colour contrast.

You are right, I have been excited with the results with this species of fern, I have been trying some species and this gives beautiful colors under ultraviolet light, you have to choose the young sorus to avoid the sporangium to open during the stack.

I did some color contrast and sharpening (local contrast) with Nik collection.
