Photshop CS3 beta Available For Download.

Post by georgedingwall »

Hi all,

Here is a link to the CS3 beta download. (This is an updated link)

http://labs.adobe.com/

You will need an Adobe ID to download it. You can create one if you haven't already got one.

You will also need a registered version of CS2 to use this beta beyond a couple of days . You need to download a special serial number to get it to run, and you have to give your serial number for your registerd copy to get it.

The beta version has crashed my computer twice today. On one occassion my IE7 history file was comppletely trashed.

The layout of the main editor is a little different, but not so different that you have to learn everything again. All the pallets are nested and docked, but you can drag a pallet out if you want them to float.

Camera raw 4 is much improved with many more options to play with.

Bridge looks like the little brother of Lightroom.

There don't seem to be too many new Whizz-Bang features. The Smart Selection Tool seem to have possibilities, and The Smart Filter option looks as if it could be interesting.

I've tried a few of my scripts, and all those I've tried so far have worked as expected.

On the whole I'd say the new version has promise, but I'm not sure yet whether there is enough to justify paying for an upgrade from CS2. Maybe I'll find more things to like about it when I've played with it for a bit longer.

Bye for now.
