White Spider

Post by scitch »

I did these on my stereo microscope. Not really happy with the photography. I like it when it comes out as good as what I see through the microscope and these did not. I don't know what kind of spider it is, just found it in my yard waste recycling trash can. Looks like a little crooked smiley face on the third one.

These were at about 7, 20, and 40 X, Sony Alpha 200, ISO 800, 4 second exposure, tissue paper tent, stacks of 12, 17, and 10 photos. Focus was adjusted with the gigantic course focus knob of the Konus Crystal-45 (there is no fine focus).

scitch,

These images are looking cleaner.

There does not appear to be as many dust trails.

You did well with the course focus adjustments for the slices.

Thanks, Craig. I learned how to use Zerene's retouching tool to turn the dust trails into dust dots. Then, the ones that interfered with the picture were removed with PhotoShop's clone stamp. I have ordered some sensor cleaners and hope they arrive soon.
