Found this today and it reminded me that I had a few photos already.
The first is a branch, the second a close-up of the branch and the third is a motile reproductive cell.

I was wondering if your HMC objectives can be used for simple brightfield photography (without the hmc condenser). I have heard that there is a small loss in image quality . I would be gratefoul if you could post a realative image
Thank you in advance

Here are a couple of photos that show what you asked for I think!
1.) Dark Feild of Hydra
2.) Stentor

Grant,
Very nice images! An interesting subject that I was not familiar with. In gathering a little more info I came across a short pdf that has a nice description (but the photo does not come close to yours )

It was a Hoffman Modulation Contrast HMC 40 Plan 0.65 na 160/0.17 objective plus the HMC 100 Plan 1.25 na 160/0.17harisA wrote:thank you very much.
Image quality seems without any issues.
And a last question . What objectives did you use for the initial photos? Are they modified by hoffman laboratories?
Thank you
