I have no idea about the performance of these lenses, but it may be worth a gamble:

That 28mm jml isn't really a "Macro" - closest focus marked is 0.3m, at 1:5, ie one fifth life size.

The odd thing about the M42 JML 28/2.8 Macro is that it is made in Japan, however, JML is an American company?

It does not like much extension behind the lens, works okay with a diopter on the front. I haven't tried it reverse mounted yet. Currently busy with infinity-corrected objectives and various tube lenses, but might get a chance tommorrow to have a closer look at the JML 28/2.8.

IMHO that JML 28/2.8 is just a wideangle M42 lens, just like other m42 28mm lenses
I own a enlarger JML 50/2.8 that performs very well (In a 5X test I did recently surpases much more expensive lenses) That JML is made in Japan too
