I know of no live bearing leafhoppers. To my knowledge they all lay eggs, often inserting them just under the integument of the plant they are feeding on.

The eggs or pods were visible after the hatching. If you look close at the stem, you might be able to make it out. The adult has always been in the same place for the past month, so maybe she died after laying the eggs :?:

That is a reasonable assumption as a great many arthropods do expire after egg laying.

Going through some low power microscope shots I took this spring I came across a couple of these "baby" leaf hoppers. Thought readers of this post might be interested in a closer look at these little critters. Kinda cute actually! They can be seen HERE.
