Mosquito head from very large stack

Post by Charles Krebs »

This is the head of a (Culex... I believe) mosquito. As you can see a goodly portion of the mosquito head is made up of "eye".

Charlie,

OK, humor me -- technical details, please?

I'm particularly intrigued by the background, which is not featureless color like your traditional backlighting. And of course I just have to ask what "very large stack" actually means. (You do this to tease me, right? It's working really well. :D )

Thanks,
--Rik

Looks like smoke in the background. Maybe the mosquito has a habit. Great details as usual and talk about an eye, it sure is a big one. :D

Rik... I had to go back and check since I actually did it last year. There were 94 images in the stack. The background originally was a solid blue, but I fooled around digitally putting some slight cloud "texture" in it.

Very 3D Charles, another super shot from your collection  The eye is fantastic IMO.
