My first Pictures

Post by drew »

Hi All, I have just purchased my first Microscope, its an old-ish Baker monocular (not sure which model) and have attempted to take some pictures with a sony cybershot w17.
I thought I'd share them as I'm sure I am doing many things wrong and could do with all the advice there is :D

Drew,

Welcome. Excellent start!

A couple of questions about the way you are working...

Is your camera model Cybershot W17 or Cybershot W170 ? (just trying to get a "fix" on the camera you are using)

I'm guessing that you are holding the camera up to the microscope eyepiece. How are you holding the camera (by hand, tripod, bracket of some type)?

Have these been "cropped" to eliminate vignetting (darkened corners) or do you get a "clean" full frame image (exposure good right out to picture corners)?

Thankyou,
I'm using the Cybershot w17 on a tripod which is lined up with the eyepiece. I have zoomed the camera in which seems to just cut of the dark corners.

I used combineZP with a 3 picture stack to create the daisy pollen picutre.
