Fireweed (Epilobium augustifolium) seed down

Post by Charles Krebs »

Get out the sunglasses, I got a little carried away with the flashy colors again!

I put a few fireweed seeds on a slide and added some immersion oil and a cover slip. The down itself was not as interesting to look at as the thistle down I posted a while back, but it sure made for some colorful abstacts.

Super colorful Charles. I like the third on the best, looks like somekind of energy coming off rodlike electrodes
