Wildflowers from my yard

Post by Jbailey »

Here are some wildflowers that abound in the wilder areas of my yard.

Yarrow, Milfoil. Notice the dead mosquito in the upper right corner of the bloom. I didn't see it umtil I was preparing the image for posting.

Lighting was from a ringlight held sharply to one side of the flowers to bring out the petals' texture.

Lighting did what you asked for :) I often "find" things I never knew were there. Best was a sea-dragon in a clump of weed I was photographing near Borneo.

Andrew:

Thanks for the feedback. Was the sea dragon under water when you photographed it?

I just barely got started in underwater photography in the 1950's. The second-hand camera jammed during the first roll of film. It was too expensive to repair so I sold the home-made enclosure to a friend who had a matching camera.

I used to dive a lot and photograph when I could. A few years ago now :(
