New fern frond

Post by Cyclops »

This is a macro of a newly emerged frond on my Cretan Brake Fern (Pteris cretica)
not easy this because my tripod doesnt do stairs well but I wanted it softly backlit so shot it on the hall windowsill where it lives.

And on examining the pics I noticed these little white spots on the pinnae-I dont think theyre present wheh the frond matures.
I did a crop of the left hand section from the full size pic-this stil gacve me a decent quality pic!
