Can you help me find this book?

Some years ago i read a book on the invention of the microscope and its progress over the years.
Its title was something like The Invented Eye, or the naked eye,basically it had eye in it ! :wink:
The Author was a Brian somebody!
I know its a long shot but i really enjoyed reading this book and I'd love to find it again!

Well, i think i found it, and no eye in the title! :oops:

Its Single Lens - story of the simple microscope by Brian J. Ford!

A classic work this, introduced me to Hook and van Leewenhook, however its spelled!

I managed to find it and oredered it from Amazon!
Last time I read this was nearly 20 years ago and it introduced me to the name Anton van Leeuwenhoek!
