I kept a Mantis as a "pet" for a while. A wasp I dropped into the terrerium was made short work of. Once I tossed it a fairly large earthworm.

The Mantis finally got the best of the worm, but for a while the battle was reminiscant of the statue of Laocoon! (Google the name if you aren't familiar with the myth.)

I hand fed the Mantis water from a thin straw. It was always accepted peaceably.

Thanks Jim. :D
I do not remember the story accurately, but immediately visualized bearded man wrestling with snake.

Since now I'm offering my hand only to smaller ones.

Noticing of my "a" and "the" and other grammar
errors are welcome. :D

I know of the story and the associated art work. Some say the youngest one lived, others say they were all devoured. I can picture the mantis and the worm in this regard
